If you're a plumber in Austin, say that. Don't try to be clever or vague. Google isn't going to rank you for "fluid solutions expert." Be direct.


And think about local intent. When people search, they're often looking for something nearby. Make sure your city, neighborhood, or service area is mentioned naturally throughout your site. That helps Google connect you to the people searching in your area.


* Something to note is that Google appreciates updates to your Google Profile. I know it’s more on the plate, but they want to know that you’re an active business and you should want your customers to know this as well.

When you do that, two things happen. First, Google starts seeing your site as useful and relevant, which helps your rankings. Second, people who find your content start to trust you before they even reach out. You've already helped them. Now they want to work with you.

A good agency or consultant can save you time, avoid costly mistakes, and get you results faster than you'd get on your own.


The key is knowing when to make that call. If you're spinning your wheels, if your site's been sitting there doing nothing for months, or if you just don't know where to start... that's when it makes sense to bring someone in. But if you're making progress and you've got the bandwidth, keep going.
